The former Mainz, Liverpool and Union Berlin stopper, 32, has rediscovered his best form since joining Schalke in 2025, most notably keeping 13 clean sheets in 30 appearances during the Ruhr club's 2025/26 title-winning season. He has signed a new deal through to 30 June 2028.
"With his consistently strong performances, Loris has made a significant contribution to our success as a reliable pillar of the team," said Schalke sporting director Youri Mulder. "The squad can count on him. In close matches in particular, he has made the difference on numerous occasions with crucial saves and secured vital points."
